Governance Board Meeting, June 29, 2004
Minnetonka Community Center

 

 

In Attendance:

Joseph Ricke, Jan Nelson, Mary Tingblad, Melanie Casiday, Margaret Ruffino, Pam Wertjes, Sara Macke, Jeri Goodspeed-Gross, Doug Kennedy, Mike Cutshall.

Absent

Linda Morantez, Katie Tuthill, Heidi Bunde, Sandy Gosen, Sonja Saunders, Miles Mortensen. There is still a vacancy on the Governance Board for a representative from Clear Springs.

Guests:

Mary Benson and Anita Otten, Teachers' Rights Co-Chairs; Susan Vento, Education Minnesota Field Representative. 

Call to Order:

11:05 a.m., by President Ricke. Prior to this time, no quorum was present, so the meeting could not be called to order. Sue Vento led the Governance Board members present in a brainstorming activity while waiting for a quorum.

Old Business:

2004-05 MTA Budget: Motion by Cutshall, seconded by Tingblad that the Teachers’ Rights Co-Chairs stipends be increased to $1,750 each and add $40 per month for each Teachers’ Rights Co-Chairs phone expenses. Motion carried.

Motion by Casiday, seconded by Goodspeed-Gross, to reduce the Education Minnesota Representative Convention meeting expenses to $500. Motion carried.

Motion by Goodspeed-Gross, seconded by Casiday, to approve the 2004-05 MTA Budget, as amended. Motion carried.

 

Due to the lack of a quorum, the meeting was adjourned at 11:35 a.m. President Ricke and Sue Vento requested that the Governance Board members look over the distributed survey results and brainstorming document that will be sent out from Treasurer Casiday.
