  • Stay informed on key issues during the legislative session.  Go to Education Minnesota's Policy and Politics Section
  • Sign up for the Capitol Watch listserv to receive weekly updates by e-mail. Log in and click on the “Capitol Watch” box.
  • Sign up for the Lobbyline listserv to receive an e-mail whenever there is new information on an educational issue. Log in and click on the “Lobbyline” box.
  • Check the weekly schedule of committee meetings and floor sessions. Click on “Legislative schedules.”
  • Read the complete language or summary of a bill. Click on “House and Senate Bills.”
  • Look at the list of new legislators this session. Click on “Legislative News.”
  • Learn about the “dos” and “don’ts” of communicating with legislators. Click on “Legislative News.”
  • Click on “Find your legislator.” Type in your address as directed.
  • If you already know who represents you, click on “Contact information for legislators.”
  • Write to your legislators with a click of the mouse! Make your voice heard by following these easy steps:
    • 1. Log in at the Policy and Politics section.
    • 2. Click on “Find a legislators and write a letter,” in your nine-digit zip code or address as directed, then click on “Go.”
    • 3. To use a sample message, click on the issues you wish to include. Add your own thoughts as you wish.
    •  4. To compose your own message, type in the letter as you wish it to appear.
    • 5. Follow the simple instructions to send your message
